Post offices will be closed during the Easter holidays, but delivery of items will be available via parcel lockers; pensions and benefits will be paid at an earlier date

Latvijas Pasts post offices will be closed during the Easter public holidays from the 10th to the 13th of April 2020, but delivery of items will be available via Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers. The customers who get their benefits and pensions granted by the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA) delivered to their place of residence through the intermediary of Latvijas Pasts with the expected pay-out period from the 10th to the 13th of April will receive the money at an earlier date.

As the post offices which are traditionally open on public holidays and weekends are located in shopping centres closed to visitors due to the state of emergency declared in the country, no Latvijas Pasts post office will be open during the Easter holidays: Good Friday on the 10th of April, Saturday, the 11th of April, Easter Sunday on the 12th of April and Easter Monday on the 13th of April. Information on changes in the opening hours is also available on the spot in all post offices.

Dozens of Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers will be available for collecting items throughout the country according to the opening hours of shopping centres during the holiday period. Information about Latvijas Pasts parcel locker network is available here

Pensions and benefits granted by the VSAA which are to be received by customers at their place of residence on the 6th and 7th of April will be delivered and paid to them on the 6th of April, and the 7th of April will be the payout day for those customers whose pensions and benefits are scheduled for the 8th and 9th of April. Pensions and benefits to be received on the 10th and 11th of April will be delivered on the 8th of April, while pensions and benefits scheduled for the 12th and 13th of April will be paid on the 9th of April.

Please keep in mind that when receiving the services of a postman at the place of residence, the security measures established in the country must also be observed. We urge you to maintain a distance, not to shake hands and not to delay the postman. For their part, postmen will wear gloves, use individual disinfectants and maintain a safe distance.
