Post offices in the shopping centres of major cities will be open during the Midsummer period; the 13th of June will be a working day at Latvijas Pasts

On Saturday, the 13th of June 2020, which is a transferred working day, Latvijas Pasts post offices will be working in accordance with the regular Monday schedule, except for several post offices with changes in opening hours on this day. Only some post offices in the shopping centres of the largest Latvian cities will provide postal services during the Midsummer holidays. The 24th of June, Jāņi Day, will be a day off for the employees of Latvijas Pasts. The customers who get their benefits and pensions granted by the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA) delivered to their place of residence through the intermediary of Latvijas Pasts with the expected pay-out period during the holidays will receive the money at an earlier date.

To allow people to enjoy several free days in a row, one working day in June – Monday, the 22nd of June – has been switched with Saturday, the 13th of June. On Saturday, the 13th of June, most Latvijas Pasts post offices will be working in accordance with the regular Monday schedule, except for 23 post offices in Riga, Mārupe, Piņķi, Baldone, Daugavpils, Jelgava, Jēkabpils, Liepāja, Ozolnieki, Ropaži, Saulkrasti, Titurga and Vangaži, whose opening hours on this day will be changed, as can be seen here.

On Monday, the 22nd of June, and on Līgo Day, the 23rd of June, postal services will be available in some post offices, whereas on Jāņi Day all post offices will be closed. A detailed list of the post offices to be open in Riga, Mārupe, Daugavpils, Jelgava, Jēkabpils, Liepāja and Ozolnieki on the 22nd and 23rd of June and their opening hours is available here

Pensions and benefits granted by the VSAA which are to be received by customers at their places of residence on the 15th and 16th of June will be delivered on the 15th of June, and the 16th of June will be the payday for those customers whose pensions and benefits are scheduled for the 17th and 18th of June. Pensions and benefits to be received on the 19th and 20th of June will be delivered on the 17th of June, while pensions and benefits scheduled for the 21st and 22nd of June will be paid on the 18th of June. The 19th of June will be the payday for those customers whose pensions and benefits are scheduled to be received at the place of residence on the 23rd and 24th of June.
