Notifications about the receipt of registered items are now also available in Latvijas Pasts mobile application

To improve customer convenience and facilitate quicker receipt of postal items, Latvijas Pasts has expanded the options of receiving electronic invitations: now notifications about registered – traceable, signed for or insured – postal items that have arrived at post offices can also be seen in Latvijas Pasts mobile application. In order to receive an invitation in Latvijas Pasts mobile app, the specific app must be allowed to display notifications through the phone settings and the correct mobile phone number of the addressee must be indicated on the registered item.

Latvijas Pasts has started to offer its customers the opportunity to receive an e-invitation for an incoming registered – traceable, signed for or insured – postal item not only in the text message format, but also in the mobile app. This service can be used by natural persons and legal entities in regard to those registered items received at the post office with the correct mobile phone number of the addressee indicated on them.

The mentioned solution is a convenient option for those customers who use Latvijas Pasts mobile app on a daily basis, because at the moment when the item is accepted and registered at the particular post office, the addressee receives an informative notification about the item delivery ways at the respective post office.

In order to receive notifications about registered items in Latvijas Pasts mobile app, the specific application must be allowed to display notifications through the phone settings, while the item must bear the number of the addressee’s phone where Latvijas Pasts mobile app is installed.

Initially, until the system is fully implemented, the addressee who has agreed to get the notifications in the mobile app will receive them both in the mobile text message format and in Latvijas Pasts mobile app, but in the coming months it is planned to switch to notifications in the mobile app only. If the recipient has not activated the possibility to receive notifications in Latvijas Pasts mobile app, this information will be sent in a mobile text message.

In recent years Latvijas Pasts has been actively implementing the transition to the provision of services in the digital environment, ensuring more accessible postal services and reducing resource consumption. Latvijas Pasts introduced the electronic invitation service in the form of mobile text messages in November 2017, and more than 11 million such messages have been sent so far.
