Several dozens of post offices throughout Latvia resume work on Saturdays as of the 11th of July 2020

Several dozens of Latvijas Pasts post offices throughout the country will resume customer service on Saturdays and/or Sundays from the 11th of July 2020. Based on the assessment of customer habits and the demand for postal services, the opening hours of a number of post offices on workdays will be changed from the 13th of July 2020. Latvijas Pasts urges its customers to evaluate the need to visit the post offices and to make maximum use of the remote application for postal services.

Starting this weekend, the 11th of July, a total of 40 post offices in Riga, Mārupe, Alūksne, Bauska, Cēsis, Daugavpils, Dobele, Gulbene, Jelgava, Jēkabpils, Krāslava, Kuldīga, Lielvārde, Liepāja, Limbaži, Ludza, Madona, Ogre, Ozolnieki, Saldus, Skrunda, Strenči, Talsi, Tukums, Valmiera and Ventspils are resuming customer service on Saturdays and/or Sundays. The precise list of post offices that resume work at weekends with their opening hours is available here.

Following the analysis of the customers’ habits of using postal services, the opening hours of four post offices will be changed from the 13th of July 2020. It has been concluded that the greatest demand for postal services in Daugavpils post office No. 1 at 42a Rīgas Street, Jaunjelgava post office at 11 Lāčplēša Street, Ķegums post office at 10 Rīgas Street 10 and Ozolnieki post office at 1b Skolas Street is observed on weekday mornings and/or evenings. Therefore it has been decided to expand the service in the mentioned post offices to the maximum on workdays. The new opening hours of these post offices are available here

As security measures must still be strictly observed, Latvijas Pasts urges its customers to be understanding and not to visit the post office if they have symptoms of the disease, to wait for their turn in the queue outside the post office, to enter the post office only when the service counter has become available, not to crowd and to keep a distance of two metres, as well as to use personal protective equipment and to practice proper hygiene.

In order to avoid spending more time than necessary at a post office, Latvijas Pasts encourages you to make maximum use of the company’s mobile application, which allows you to apply for the service remotely and show up at the post office just in time for receiving your service, as well as to redirect inbound registered items to one of the Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers. You can apply for services remotely in 86 largest and busiest post offices throughout Latvia; the list of these post offices is available here.

Latvijas Pasts continues to assess the optimal provision of post office operations and delivery of items, taking into account the emergency situation.
