A postal item can now be sent from any post office to any of Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers

To promote the recognition of Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers as an alternative location for receiving postal items and to enhance the level of service provided to customers, Latvijas Pasts has started offering a new service to customers: now it is possible to process a postal item at any post office so that it can be received at any of Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers. This service is available for registered – signed for, insured or traceable – postal items, the delivery of which is not processed as a cash-on-delivery service and to which the additional service Advice of delivery is not applied.

Latvijas Pasts has started to offer the processing of registered – traceable, signed for or insured – postal items from any post office to more than 60 Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers throughout Latvia. As a result, receiving items is becoming even more convenient for customers and the choice of services is getting more and more diverse.

When processing a postal item for receipt at a Latvijas Pasts parcel locker, customers must indicate on the postal item the exact address of the Latvijas Pasts parcel locker to which the postal item is addressed, as well as the correct and functioning mobile phone numbers of the sender and the recipient in order to provide the service and in order for the representative of Latvijas Pasts to be able to contact the sender or the recipient of the item when necessary, for example, in a situation where the maximum permitted parameters of the item size or the item weight are exceeded.

When processing a postal item at a post office for receipt at a Latvijas Pasts parcel locker, please keep in mind that the weight of the item may not exceed 31.5 kilograms and its size must not be bigger than the permitted parameters of 38 cm x 38 cm x 58 cm.

Parcel lockers can be used to receive those registered items the delivery of which is not processed as a cash-on-delivery service and to which the additional service Advice of delivery is not applied, as such items require collecting payment from the recipient in person and the recipient’s signature on the advice as proof that the postal item has been delivered personally to the addressee.

In less than a year since the purchase of the parcel locker network the demand for receiving and sending items through Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers has significantly increased, especially intensifying since March 2020. The total turnover of items in Latvijas Pasts parcel locker network in March – June grew by more than 40%.
