By equipping parcel lockers with payment card terminals, Latvijas Pasts provides more diverse payment options

As part of the modernisation of the parcel locker network, Latvijas Pasts in cooperation with Bank Citadele has completed the equipping of all the company’s parcel lockers with the latest generation payment card terminals, and now customers can pay for the items they send immediately at the parcel locker. Thus Latvijas Pasts offers the most diverse payment options for item delivery to parcel lockers: with a payment card on the spot at the parcel locker, via the payment system Mobilly, with special payment codes purchased online and by processing the item on the website of Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts. The modernisation and expansion of Latvijas Pasts parcel locker network continues, planning new service options for customers.

In September 2020 Latvijas Pasts in cooperation with Bank Citadele implemented the equipping of all of the company’s 62 parcel lockers with the latest generation payment card terminals, which allows customers to pay for the sending services on the spot at the parcel locker, including by using contactless payment technology opportunities.

Having completed this modernisation stage, Latvijas Pasts provides its customers with the widest payment options for item delivery to parcel lockers: on the spot at the parcel locker, by purchasing payment codes on the website https://pakomati.pasts.lv/, via Mobilly and by processing the item on the website of Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts and using the e-sending tool offered by it: https://expresspasts.lv/esutisana/

The next stage of improving the functionality of the parcel locker network will make it possible for the customer to pay for a cash-on-delivery item, which was processed online, with a payment card upon its receipt in the parcel locker, while further development plans are related to a significant expansion of the parcel locker network, envisaging purchase and installation of 60 new parcel lockers this year and during 2021.

Upon the completion of the first stage of the parcel locker network modernisation in August 2020, Latvijas Pasts increased its total capacity by 40% or more than 1,000 locker boxes, thus improving the speed of item movement and allowing for delivery and receipt of a larger number of items

Latvijas Pasts acquired the parcel locker network in August 2019, significantly expanding the item delivery and sending options, which are ensured by more than 600 post offices, postmen and couriers, as well as a network of Circle-K fuel stations and over 60 parcel lockers throughout Latvia.
