Opening hours of 62 post offices in Riga Region have been extended to deliver postal items before the end-of-the-year holidays
Due to a substantial increase in the number of postal items at the end of the year, opening hours have been extended at a total of 62 Latvijas Pasts post offices in Riga Region from Friday, the 18th of December 2020, in order to be able to deliver the maximum possible number of items, which have been received at the post offices, to customers. Both domestic and international items must be received by Latvijas Pasts until the 20th of December 2020 in order for the company to be able to deliver them by Christmas. The last day for delivery of items before Christmas this year in Latvia is the 23rd of December and for delivery before the turn of the year – the 30th of December.

In order to be able to deliver the maximum possible number of items, which have been received at the post offices, to customers before the holidays, the opening hours of a total of 62 post offices in Riga, Ādaži, Baldone, Carnikava, Cekule, Garkalne, Inčukalns, Katlakalns, Kauguri, Ķekava, Majori, Mālpils, Mārupe, Melluži, Murjāņi, Olaine, Piņķi, Ragana, Ropaži, Salaspils, Saulkrasti, Sigulda, Sloka, Titurga, Ulbroka and Vangaži have been extended by one hour on weekdays and by three hours on the upcoming Saturday from the 18th of December 2020.

The extended working hours are mainly intended to ensure the receipt of items, while also providing customers with other postal services if necessary. A detailed list of the post offices with the extended opening hours for the delivery of items is available here.

As of December 2020 a total of 81 busiest and most visited Latvijas Pasts post offices across the country will also be open on Saturdays, ensuring the provision of services in strict compliance with the security measures established in the country to contain the spread of COVID-19. The post offices open at weekends will provide services and sell only the goods related to the provision of postal services, as well as food, public transport tickets, press and personal protective equipment. A list of the post offices open on Saturdays and their opening hours is available here.

Latvijas Pasts urges customers to be understanding, because in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 throughout the country, there are restrictions on the number of people who can stay in the premises of service providers at a time. Therefore, the capabilities to provide services at post offices have decreased and situations may arise where customers have to wait to receive their services while standing outside the post office and keeping a distance from each other.

To avoid having to wait for the needed postal service, Latvijas Pasts encourages you to make use of the company’s mobile application, which allows you to apply for the service remotely and show up at the post office just in time for receiving your service. You can apply for services remotely in 86 largest and busiest post offices throughout Latvia; the list of these post offices is available here

Latvijas Pasts would like to remind you that both domestic and international postal items must be received by Latvijas Pasts until the 20th of December 2020 in order for the company to be able to deliver them by Christmas. The last day for delivery of items before Christmas this year is the 23rd of December and for delivery before the New Year holidays – the 30th of December.
