81 Latvijas Pasts post offices continue to provide postal services also on Saturdays until the 23rd of January 2021

A total of 81 Latvijas Pasts post offices across Latvia continue to ensure the provision of services also on Saturdays in strict compliance with the security measures established in the country to contain the spread of COVID-19. Taking into account the restrictions introduced in the country, until the end of the state of emergency the post offices provide all services available at them, but sell only the goods related to the provision of postal services, as well as some household goods, food, public transport tickets, press and personal protective equipment. Out of the total number of the post offices working at weekends, 34 post offices are open on such days on a regular basis, but until the 23rd of January 2021 additional 47 post offices are open on Saturdays throughout the country.

A total of 81 post offices throughout Latvia continue to operate on Saturdays, contributing to the maximum circulation of postal items and strictly observing the national security requirements for containing COVID-19. Taking into account the restrictions introduced in the country, until the end of the state of emergency Latvijas Pasts post offices continue to provide all the services available at them, but the goods that can be purchased there are only those related to the provision of postal services, such as stamps, envelopes, postcards, parcel packaging and adhesive tapes, as well as some household goods, food, public transport tickets, press, sanitisers and face and mouth covers.

34 of the post offices opened on the weekend are open on Saturdays on a regular basis, but 47 are open for additional work on Saturdays until the 23rd of January 2021.

Latvijas Pasts urges customers to be understanding, because in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 throughout the country, there are restrictions on the number of people who can stay in the premises of service providers at a time. Therefore, the capabilities to provide services at post offices have decreased and situations may arise where customers have to wait to receive their services while standing outside the post office and keeping a distance from each other.

To avoid having to wait for the needed postal service, Latvijas Pasts encourages you to make use of the company’s mobile application, which allows you to apply for the service remotely and show up at the post office just in time for receiving your service. You can apply for services remotely at 86 largest and busiest post offices throughout Latvia; the list of these post offices is available here.

A list of the post offices open on Saturdays with their opening hours is available here.

Latvijas Pasts has created a special frequently asked question-answer section about the company’s operations in the state of emergency, which is available in the News section of the company’s website www.pasts.lv and is regularly updated.
