Voting for the best and the most helpful postman or post office operator is still open until the 31st of January

This is the tenth time that Latvijas Pasts has launched the traditional contest Mans pastnieks (My Postman) to identify and pay tribute to the postman and the post office operator from each region of Latvia who has been recognised as the most reliable, knowledgeable and approachable by the customers. To nominate their favourite postal employee, all customers are encouraged by Latvijas Pasts to submit the contest questionnaire online at http://anketa.pasts.lv/ by the 31st of January 2021 or send the post-paid questionnaire by post: the printed questionnaires were inserted into all Newspaper and Magazine Subscription Catalogues for 2021 that were delivered free of charge to the subscribers’ letter-boxes last October, before the start of the subscription campaign.

Latvijas Pasts has already received several thousands of the questionnaires for the best postal employee completed by customers: most of them have still been received by post; however significant activity of the population can also be observed online through the website of Latvijas Pasts http://anketa.pasts.lv/.

This is the tenth time that Latvijas Pasts is holding the contest My Postman to give customers an opportunity to say thank you to any of the nearly 2,300 postmen and post office workers of the company – thanks to them postal items are delivered to any address throughout the country to the letter-boxes of the addressees, by hand and to offices every working day. The occupations of a postman and a post office operator are particularly appreciated in the countryside as the employees are also approachable and forthcoming outside their immediate job duties, oftentimes supporting with advice or practical help those who struggle to care for themselves.

The best postman and post office operator of 2020 will be identified within the contest My Postman in each region of Latvia: Kurzeme, Latgale, Vidzeme, Zemgale and Riga. The postmen and post office operators with the highest assessment rates given by the residents will receive valuable prizes from Latvijas Pasts.

Last October the printed questionnaires for the contest My Postman were sent out together with the Newspaper and Magazine Subscription Catalogues for 2021 and placed into the letter-boxes of the customers who had subscribed to any periodicals during the previous two years. The completed questionnaires should be dropped in any Latvijas Pasts letter-box or dropped off at a post office by the 31st of January. The questionnaires are post-paid. The contest questionnaire may also be filled in and submitted online until the mentioned deadline here

A total of 1,610 Latvijas Pasts postmen and post office operators were proposed for the best employee nomination within the contest My Postman 2019 organised by Latvijas Pasts and more than 11,000 customers’ questionnaires were received for them.
