Pensions can be received at places of residence by requesting this service from the State Social Insurance Agency

Taking into consideration the requirements put into place in the country to contain the spread of COVID-19, the reduction of service options at post offices due to the area size that must be provided per customer and the need to minimise exposure during the state of emergency, we would like to remind you that customers who receive a pension granted by the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA) in the Postal Payments System (PNS) can opt for receiving it at their place of residence in the future. To have the pension delivered home, the customer must submit a relevant application to VSAA.

Latvijas Pasts has an agreement with VSAA on the delivery of pensions at the recipients’ places of residence, and this cash delivery service will cost the customer EUR 2.39.

An application to VSAA regarding a change of the payment address, deciding on further delivery of the pension at the place of residence, can be submitted electronically via the portal Latvija.lv, selecting the e-service Iesniegums iestādei (Application to authority) and expressing one’s wish in a free form. The application can also be sent by post or delivered to any VSAA customer service centre, except at 1 Talejas Street, Riga, and dropped in a designated box for applications.

However, the pension recipient must take into account that when changing the method of receiving the pension, the date of payment may also change. The addresses and opening hours of the VSAA customer service centres can be found here: https://www.vsaa.gov.lv/kontakti/klientu-apkalposanas-darba-laiki/
