Latvijas Pasts expands the possibilities of using parcel lockers, offering the option of reaching also distant addressees in the countryside

To expand the reach of addressees throughout Latvia, Latvijas Pasts has broadened the possibilities of using its parcel lockers: now it is possible to process postal items through the company’s parcel lockers for delivery to a recipient at any post office across the country. This is a valuable addition during the time of COVID-19, as it allows reaching addressees also in areas where there are no parcel lockers, while providing customers with a convenient and secure way to process a postal item for sending without visiting a post office.

In March 2021, Latvijas Pasts expanded the capabilities of using the company’s parcel lockers, which now make it possible for the customers to process a postal item using a parcel locker of Latvijas Pasts for delivery to any post office throughout Latvia. This is a valuable addition to the parcel locker service, particularly now – during the state of emergency – as it allows reaching recipients also in areas where there are no parcel lockers and at the same time provides the customers with a convenient and safe way to process a postal item without the need to visit a post office.

In order to process an item through a parcel locker for receipt at a post office, the sender must provide the following information: city or municipality of destination, post office of destination, name and surname of the recipient, as well as the mobile phone number of the sender and the recipient. It is possible to pay for the delivery of the item on the spot with a bank card when processing the item through the parcel locker, with a payment code purchased in advance on the website pakomati.pasts.lv or via the payment system Mobilly.

When processing a postal item at a Latvijas Pasts parcel locker for receipt at a post office, the customers should keep in mind that the weight of the item may not exceed 31.5 kilograms and its size must not be bigger than the permitted parameters of 38 cm x 38 cm x 58 cm. The service fee does not depend on the size of the item: the delivery from a parcel locker to a post office costs only 2.82 euro.

More information on the possibilities of sending postal items through Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers is available here.

Latvijas Pasts acquired the parcel locker network in August 2019, significantly expanding the item delivery and sending options, which are ensured by more than 600 post offices, postmen and couriers, as well as a network of Circle-K fuel stations and over 60 parcel lockers throughout Latvia. Latvijas Pasts plans to expand the parcel locker network with new lockers, and in order to implement this goal the company has announced procurement for the purchase of 120 new parcel lockers. Meanwhile, new parcel lockers for the pick-up of items are being placed at the busiest post offices.
