The traditional contest My Postman is open: vote for your favourite postal employee also online at http://anketa.pasts.lv/!
As the end of the year is approaching, Latvijas Pasts has launched the traditional contest Mans pastnieks (My Postman) to identify and pay tribute to the best postman and post office operator from each region of Latvia who has been recognised as the most reliable, knowledgeable and helpful by the customers in 2021. The contest questionnaires can be filled in and submitted online at http://anketa.pasts.lv/, while post-paid questionnaires that should be filled in by hand and sent to Latvijas Pasts have been inserted into all the Newspaper and Magazine Subscription Catalogues 2022 delivered free of charge to the subscribers’ letter-boxes. The deadline for submitting the questionnaires is the 31st of January 2022.

The main function of Latvijas Pasts is to provide postal services, in addition to providing commercial transport, express mail, payment, press, retail and philatelic services. In order to ensure all the company’s processes, the company employs about 3,200 people in about 150 different occupations, with the biggest share – over 70% – made up of postmen and post office employees who deliver press obtained by subscription, letters and small packets every day, serve customers at the post offices service and provide various other services even in the most remote rural homesteads.

The occupation of the postman and postal operator has always been valued, and the employees of Latvijas Pasts have worked hard particularly in the conditions of COVID-19 to provide all the necessary services, with the company not stopping its operations for a day since the beginning of the pandemic. During all this time Latvijas Pasts employees have been providing both item delivery and customer services throughout Latvia. Postmen are most valued by senior citizens in rural areas, as the postman is often the only link to the outside world.

Therefore, this is the 11th time that Latvijas Pasts invites customers to vote for the best postal employee through a questionnaire. It is an opportunity to thank those postmen and post office operators who carry out their duties with great responsibility, diligence and sincerity.

The best postman and post office operator of 2021 will be identified within the contest My Postman in each region of Latvia: Kurzeme, Latgale, Vidzeme, Zemgale and Riga. The postmen and post office operators with the highest assessment rates given by the residents will receive valuable prizes from Latvijas Pasts.

At the beginning of October the printed questionnaires for the contest My Postman were sent out together with the Newspaper and Magazine Subscription Catalogues 2022, which were delivered free of charge to the letter-boxes of the customers who have subscribed to any periodicals during the last two years. The filled questionnaires should be dropped in any Latvijas Pasts letter-box or dropped off at a post office by the 31st of January 2022. The questionnaires are post-paid. The contest questionnaire may be filled in and sent online until the mentioned deadline here.

A total of 946 Latvijas Pasts postmen and post office operators were proposed for the best employee nomination within the contest My Postman 2020 organised by Latvijas Pasts and more than 11,300 customers’ questionnaires were received for them.
