Latvijas Pasts changes the names of eight post offices according to their locations

As of the 1st of January 2022, Latvijas Pasts is changing the names of eight post offices in the Riga, Kurzeme, Latgale, Vidzeme and Zemgale Regions according to the actual location of each post office. The change of the post office names will not affect the receipt of postal services.

Several Latvijas Pasts post offices historically were given names that currently no longer correspond to the actual locations of the specific post offices. In order for the names of these post offices to match the actual situation, a decision has been made to change the names of eight post offices in the Riga, Kurzeme, Latgale, Vidzeme and Zemgale Regions as of the 1st of January 2022.

From the new year, the change of the post office names in the Riga Region will affect Majori post office in Jūrmala and Murjāņi post office in Saulkrasti Municipality: from now on, the name of Majori post office will be Dubulti post office, while Murjāņi post office will be called Loja post office.

In the Kurzeme Region, the name of three post offices will change: Grieze post office in Nīgrande Parish, Saldus Municipality, as well as Laurciems and Tadaiķi post offices in Tadaiķi Parish, South Kurzeme Region. From the 1st of January 2022, the name of Grieze post office will be Kalni post office, Laurciems post office will be Rude post office and Tadaiķi post office will now be Lieģi post office.

In Latgale, the change of the post office name will affect Mežmala post office in Bērziņi Parish, Krāslava Municipality: this post office will be called Bērziņi post office.

In Vidzeme, Viesturi post office operating in Valmiera will acquire a new name from the 1st of January, and as a result of the name change it will become Valmiera post office No. 2.

In the Zemgale Region, the name change will affect Kaigi post office in Kalnciems Parish, Jelgava Municipality: its new name will be Kalnciems post office.

The customers of the mentioned post offices will continue to have access to all the necessary postal services: the change of the post office names will not affect the receipt of postal services.
