Nearly 410,000 press subscriptions for 2022 have been processed

Almost 410,000 press subscriptions have been received for delivery to addressees during the three-month subscription campaign You Can Read All Year Round! of Latvijas Pasts for 2022, including subscriptions taken out both through Latvijas Pasts and in publishing houses. Latvijas Pasts reminds you that there is still the opportunity to subscribe to your favourite periodicals at any of the post offices, from postmen or through the website www.abone.lv also after completion of the subscription campaign.

The print media subscription campaign You Can Read All Year Round! organised by Latvijas Pasts was held from the 1st of October to the end of December 2021, resulting in a total of 409,782 press subscriptions taken out through the subscription channels of Latvijas Pasts and in publishing houses. This is slightly less than a year earlier, when Latvijas Pasts had received 412,307 press subscriptions for delivery; however, it should be taken into account that several periodicals are no longer issued in 2022, so fluctuations in the overall result of the subscriptions are considered minimal.

The number of subscriptions taken out through the subscription channel of Latvijas Pasts www.abone.lv for 2022 has increased by 3% or more than 3,500 subscriptions compared to the previous year. Magazines account for 64% in the total structure of press subscriptions made. Most readers have subscribed to press for a longer period of time equal to 10–12 months: the number of such subscriptions amounts to 271,893 units or 67% of the total number of subscriptions for 2021.

“The result of the subscription campaign is gratifying, as it proves that despite the difficulties of the pandemic, our desire to read has not disappeared anywhere. For its part, Latvijas Pasts would like to remind you that you can read all year round indeed, as well as subscribe to your favourite print media: if you have not already done so during the subscription campaign, you can still subscribe now. That is why I still call on you on behalf of Latvijas Pasts and all publishers: let us subscribe and read all year round!” Mārcis Vilcāns, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, points out.

There is still the opportunity to subscribe to your favourite periodicals for various periods in 2022 also after the completion of the subscription campaign at any of the post offices, from postmen or through the website www.abone.lv: the newspapers and magazines issued in Latvia during the relevant subscription period will be delivered in two business days if the publisher has provided for this possibility; other periodicals will be delivered from the beginning of each full month, and the time of receiving international print media will depend on the schedule set by the provider and the specific subscription price period.

Latvijas Pasts offers the widest range of newspapers and magazines for subscription in Latvia, currently amounting to a total of 790 different press titles. They include newspapers and magazines published both in Latvia and abroad. Among them are 333 Latvian periodicals: 109 newspapers and 224 magazines.
