Latvijas Pasts suspends the acceptance and payment of Russian and Belarussian money orders and delivery and sale of press, and will not send commercial items

Latvijas Pasts will not deliver press published in Russia and Belarus to subscribers in Latvia: just like goods produced in those countries, press will not be available for purchase at post offices. Money orders and Western Union money transfers will no longer be accepted to Russia and Belarus, and money orders and transfers received from those countries will not be paid out in Latvia. Acceptance of commercial items to Russia and Belarus has also been suspended. Meanwhile, both items and money orders are accepted to Ukraine, but senders must take into account the war situation.

Latvijas Pasts has decided to suspend the delivery of press published in Russia and Belarus to subscribers in Latvia, as well as removed newspapers and magazines issued in those countries from the range of products sold at post offices. It will also not be possible to purchase goods manufactured in Russia and Belarus at post offices.

From the 3rd of March 2022, money orders and Western Union money transfers will no longer be accepted either to Russia or Belarus, and money orders and transfers received from those countries will not be paid out to recipients in Latvia. In addition, commercial items to Russia and Belarus will no longer be accepted.

At the same time, both postal items and money orders for recipients in Ukraine are accepted. In cooperation with the Polish postal company, items to Ukraine are delivered by land. However, we ask customers to take into account that due to both warfare and land transportation including border crossings, the exchange of items will be longer and, in some areas, even impossible. The same applies to the receipt of money orders at post offices in war-affected areas.

As land transport from Latvia to the Polish-Ukrainian border with items destined for Ukrainian addressees runs regularly, Latvijas Pasts has offered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to use it to send the necessary humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

In case of questions or uncertainties regarding the deliveries of postal items, customers are welcome to contact Latvijas Pasts Customer Centre: +371 67008001, +371 27008001, info@pasts.lv or via social network profiles.
