Postal item exchange with Ukraine has been resumed

Latvijas Pasts resumes accepting postal items to Ukraine, as a solution has been found for the transportation and delivery of items to Ukraine by land in cooperation with a Polish postal establishment. Items from Ukraine will also reach recipients in Latvia in the same way. However, please be aware that due to both warfare and land transportation including border crossings, the exchange of items will be longer and, in some areas, impossible.

Latvijas Pasts resumes accepting postal items to recipients in Ukraine: in cooperation with a Polish postal establishment, items will be delivered to Ukraine by land. Items from Ukraine will be delivered to recipients in Latvia in the same way.

However, we ask customers to take into account the fact that it will take longer to deliver items by land when crossing the border is involved. Due to the war in Ukraine, it will not be possible to deliver and receive items in all areas.

Last week, air traffic to and from Ukraine was suspended, so Latvijas Pasts interrupted the acceptance of postal items to that country for a few days. Items addressed to Ukraine that had not yet been sent from Latvia were stored in the mail processing centre of Latvijas Pasts, and now they are being directed to recipients in Ukraine.

Up to 300 registered items on average are sent to Ukraine from Latvia via Latvijas Pasts per week, excluding letters and ordinary small packets.

In case of any questions or uncertainties regarding the deliveries of postal items, customers are welcome to contact Latvijas Pasts Customer Centre: +371 67008001, +371 27008001, info@pasts.lv or via social network profiles.
