To expand the accessibility of postal services and ensure convenient one-stop provision of postal services according to the current actual demand for services, Liepāja item delivery point at 4 Pasta Street is being expanded and Liepāja post office No. 1 is being renovated on its basis. The post office will start operations in its new status on the 6th of June 2022. From the 17th of June, Liepāja post office No. 1 will be merged with the nearby post office No. 12, and the customers of post office No. 12 will be invited to receive all postal services in the newly merged Liepāja post office No. 1 from that date.
Current trends in the use of postal services in Liepāja show that the most convenient way to provide services to customers in the area of the existing post office No. 12 is to expand the item delivery point, creating a full-spectrum post office where it is possible to receive all postal services in one place. Therefore, from the 6th of June 2022, the item delivery point at 4 Pasta Street will start operating as Liepāja post office No. 1, ensuring the provision of all types of postal services.
Liepāja post office No. 1 will be open to customers Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM
Starting from the 17th of June, the renovated Liepāja post office No. 1 will be merged with Liepāja post office No. 12 at 8/10 Kūrmājas prospekts, which is 800 metres away, and from that day the customers of the latter post office’s area are invited to receive not only items, but all other types of postal services at Liepāja post office No. 1 at 4 Pasta Street. Three cash register systems will operate at the merged post office to serve customers more efficiently.
“The merging of the post offices will create additional conveniences for the customers of Liepāja post office No. 12, because the delivery of all items to the residents of the area serviced by this post office has already been organised at the item delivery point at 4 Pasta Street. Now, with the establishment of a full-fledged post office in these premises, all the necessary postal and retail services will be available in spacious and modern environment in one place,” Ilze Riekstiņa, Head of the Kurzeme Region of the Postal Network Department at Latvijas Pasts points out.
The last working day of Liepāja post office No. 12 will be the 16th of June, when it will be open from 8 AM to 1 PM. Meanwhile, the item delivery point will be open from 8 AM to 12 PM noon on the 3rd of June before it is transformed into Liepāja post office No. 1.
In recent years, Latvijas Pasts has been actively implementing modernisation works aimed at improving the postal services and the environment of the post offices.
