To improve the availability of postal services and ensure more convenient receipt of the services, Daugavpils item delivery point at 26 Aveņu Street is being expanded, and a new post office, Daugavpils post office No. 22, will start operating on its basis from the 1st of August 2022. In the newly established post office, customers will be able not only to receive postal items, but also to use all other services provided by Latvijas Pasts. Due to the establishment of the new post office, changes are planned in the opening hours of the existing item delivery point on the 28th and 29th of July.
Following the analysis of the demand for the use of postal services in Daugavpils, a decision was made to expand the service offer by creating a full-spectrum post office on the basis of Daugavpils item delivery point at 26 Aveņu Street, where the entire range of postal services will be available.
The new Daugavpils post office No. 22 will start operating on the 1st of August, providing not only the delivery of all types of postal items, but also other services, such as sending domestic and cross-border letter-post items and postal parcels, press subscription, cash deposit and withdrawal using the Postal Settlement System account, money order payments, payments of utility and other bills, etc. Two cash register systems will operate in the new post office to provide services.
“We are pleased that by keeping track of the changes in the use of services we can promptly implement the necessary improvements in the customer service. Several years ago, Daugavpils item delivery point was established at the request of customers, and now we are transforming it into a full-spectrum post office, because our customers need it,” Inga Raklinska, Head of the Latgale Region of the Postal Network Department at Latvijas Pasts points out.
The new Daugavpils post office will be open to customers every workday, Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM.
In order for Daugavpils post office No. 22 to start successful operations from the 1st of August, the existing delivery point will have changed opening hours on the 28th and 29th of July: on the 28th of July, the customers will be served there from 10 AM to 12 PM, and on the 29th of July, delivery of items will be provided from 10 AM to 2 PM.
After the establishment of Daugavpils post office No. 22, there will be a total of six post offices in the city.
In recent years, Latvijas Pasts has been actively implementing modernisation works aimed at improving the postal services and the environment of the post offices.
