Voting for the best postman and post office operator of 2022 is open until the 31st of January

Latvijas Pasts would like to remind you that it is possible to vote for the best postal employee until the 31st of January 2023; therefore, we encourage every customer to submit the contest questionnaire online at http://anketa.pasts.lv/ or send the post-paid questionnaire by post: the printed questionnaires were inserted into all Newspaper and Magazine Subscription Catalogues for 2023 that were delivered free of charge to the subscribers’ letter-boxes last October, before the start of the subscription campaign. This is the 12th time that Latvijas Pasts has launched the contest Mans pastnieks (My Postman) to identify and pay tribute to the best postman and post office operator from each region of Latvia in 2022, recognised as the most helpful, reliable and knowledgeable and by the customers.

In October 2022, Latvijas Pasts launched the traditional contest Mans pastnieks (My Postman) for the 12th time to identify and pay tribute to the best postman and post office operator from each region of Latvia and Riga in 2022. Latvijas Pasts has already received several thousands of the questionnaires for the best postal employee completed by the customers: the questionnaires have been both sent by post and filled in online through the website of Latvijas Pasts http://anketa.pasts.lv/.

The traditional contest My Postman is organised to vote for the best postman through a questionnaire. At the same time, it is an opportunity to thank your postman or post office employee for their meaningful work.

The global postal industry employs around 5.3 million workers, who reach people even in the most remote parts of the world. As a result of recent events in the world, the public’s perception of the postal industry as a whole has changed: at a time when many countries had to give up social life because of the pandemic, postal establishments proved themselves as essential service providers, ensuring the connection of people and companies with the services they needed.

Latvijas Pasts employs about 3,000 people in about 150 different occupations, with the biggest share – around 70% – made up of postmen and post office employees. Every working day, under any conditions, our employees deliver thousands of periodicals by subscription, letters and small packages; customers are served at postal service points, and various other services are provided even in the most remote Latvian rural homesteads. In rural areas, postmen are often the only link to the outside world for senior citizens, so they value the postman’s work most.

The best postman and post office operator of 2022 will be identified within the contest My Postman in each region of Latvia: Kurzeme, Latgale, Vidzeme, Zemgale and Riga. The postmen and post office operators with the highest assessment rates given by the residents will receive valuable prizes from Latvijas Pasts.

We invite customers to use the convenient option to vote for the best postal employee online – the contest questionnaire may be filled in and submitted by the 31st of January 2023 here.

At the beginning of October 2022, the printed questionnaires for the contest were sent out together with the Newspaper and Magazine Subscription Catalogues 2023, which were delivered free of charge to the letter-boxes of the customers who had subscribed to any periodicals during the last two years. The filled questionnaires should be dropped in any Latvijas Pasts letter-box or dropped off at a post office before the mentioned deadline. The questionnaires are post-paid.

A total of 820 Latvijas Pasts postmen and post office operators were proposed for the best employee nomination within the contest My Postman 2021 and more than 11,300 customers’ questionnaires were received for them.
