To expand the possibilities of receiving and sending items, in January 2023 Latvijas Pasts has supplemented its parcel locker network with 11 outdoor parcel lockers in different parts of Latvia, such as Carnikava, Iecava, Mārupe, Olaine, Ogre, Salacgrīva, Smiltene, Tukums and Riga. This brings the current collective number of Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers to more than 120, creating a unique network for Latvia, which consists of both indoor and outdoor parcel lockers. The ambitious project to expand the parcel locker network continues, with 20 more modern outdoor parcel lockers planned to be added by the end of Q1 2023. In total, it is planned to install at least 120 new parcel lockers.
Latvijas Pasts actively continues to expand the parcel locker network, placing the new generation of outdoor parcel lockers in strategically advantageous locations for customers across the country. In January 2023, another 11 new outdoor parcel lockers were installed, bringing the total number of parcel lockers in Latvijas Pasts network to 126 lockers. Customers have access to the new outdoor parcel lockers at any time of the day, every day.
In January 2023, new parcel lockers were installed at 18 Rīgas Street, Carnikava; at 27 Rīgas Street, Iecava; near the shopping centre Rimi at 31 Daugavas Street, Mārupe; near the shopping centre Olānija, 6 Zeiferta Street, Olaine; near the shopping centre Maxima, 1 Vidus prospekts, Ogre; near the store TOP, 2 Vidzemes Street, Salacgrīva; at 1 Dārza Street, Smiltene; near the shopping centre Rimi at 14 Pasta Street, Tukums; near the shopping centre Rimi at 43 Kalnciema Street, Riga; in Alojas Quarter at 62a K. Valdemāra Street, Riga; and near the store Lats at 2 Vaiņodes Street, Riga.
By the end of the first quarter of this year, it is planned to install another 20 new parcel lockers, continuing this process throughout 2023.
Latvijas Pasts is the only company in Latvia that offers both indoor parcel locker services, which are very important for parcels that require a certain temperature regime, without exposing them to fluctuations in the surrounding environment, and outdoor parcel lockers, ensuring the collection and sending of items at any time of the day. Among the parcel lockers of Latvijas Pasts there is also a parcel tower in Pļavnieki, Riga, which is the only one of its kind in Latvia. It is an efficient and modern parcel delivery machine with the automated item delivery function, which has space to store up to 500 items at a time.
As part of the development of various item delivery solutions tailored to the modern consumption habits of its customers, Latvijas Pasts began implementing its ambitious plan in August 2022 to install outdoor parcel lockers, with a view to expanding the parcel locker network with at least 120 new parcel lockers.
