Latvijas Pasts will be closed for holidays on the 1st, 4th and 5th of May; only some post offices will be open

On the 1st, 4th and 5th of May 2023, which are the public holidays, only some Latvijas Pasts post offices in the largest shopping centres will provide services. On Saturday, the 20th of May, which is a transferred working day, post offices will be working in accordance with the regular Friday schedule – postal items will also be delivered on this day. The customers who get their benefits and pensions granted by the State Social Insurance Agency delivered to their places of residence through the intermediary of Latvijas Pasts with the expected pay-out period from the 5th to 7th of May will receive the money at an earlier date. Dozens of Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers can be used for collecting and sending items during the holidays.  

Only some post offices in the shopping centres of the major Latvian cities will be open during the public holidays: Labour Day on the 1st of May, the Day of Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia on the 4th of May and on the 5th of May, which is the additional day off. The opening hours of these post offices will be adjusted to the opening hours of the relevant shopping centres. To allow people to enjoy several free days in a row, one working day in May – Friday, the 5th of May – has been switched with Saturday, the 20th of May. On Saturday, the 20th of May, Latvijas Pasts will be open according to Friday schedule and will deliver postal items to residents.

Pensions and benefits granted by the State Social Insurance Agency which are to be received by customers at their places of residence on the 5th and the 6th of May will be delivered and paid on the 2nd of May, and the 3rd of May will be the payday for those customers at their places of residence whose pensions and benefits are scheduled for the 7th of May.
