Holders of the names Anita, Aija and Inese in Riga, Liepāja, Valmiera and Ventspils will receive most postcards with greetings on Mother’s Day

Most greetings within the Mother’s Day postcard sending campaign 2023 held by Latvijas Pasts will travel to women called Anita, Aija and Inese in Riga, Liepāja, Valmiera. It is interesting to note that among the names of the most popular mothers of the 2022 campaign, Anitas and Ineses have retained their place in the top this year, while Ventspils has entered the top four cities to which the most postcards travel, instead of Cēsis. A total of 40,000 postcards will be received during the traditional Latvijas Pasts campaign by mums across Latvia this year.

During the Mother’s Day postcard sending campaign, which has been organised by Latvijas Pasts since 2011, this year 40,000 postcards were completed in record time, in less than three days, and they will be received by mothers, grandmothers, girlfriends, aunts, godmothers and other female relatives throughout Latvia.

The common unifying motif of the special design holiday postcards was All Spring Flowers for You!, and everyone interested in sending a greeting card had the opportunity to prepare it on the website www.nosutipastkarti.lv, logging in through one’s Facebook or Google user profile. The surprise postcard specially created for Latvijas Pasts Mother’s Day campaign was designed by the artist Kristīne Luīze Avotiņa.

Latvijas Pasts will deliver the postcards which were filled in correctly to the addressees in Latvia until Mother's Day, which is celebrated in Latvia on the 14th of May this year.

Of all the postcards filled in during the campaign, Anitas will receive the most greetings: 998 postcards are dedicated to them. Meanwhile, 885 postcards have been sent to Aijas and 861 to Ineses. The first top 3 are followed by Ingas with 705 postcards, Ilzes (689), Aigas (682), Daces (677), Ivetas (676), Sandras (637) and Līgas (601).

During the 2022 campaign, most postcards were received by those called Inese, Dace and Anita.

Latvijas Pasts will deliver 5,631 greeting postcards to mums in Riga and its surroundings, while most greetings outside the capital will travel to Liepāja and its surroundings (2,352), Valmiera (1,337), Ventspils (899), Jūrmala (765), Cēsis (754), Tukums (701), Bauska (670), Daugavpils (663), Kuldīga (659) and Rēzekne (653).

For reference, during the 2022 campaign most postcards outside Riga were received by mums in Liepāja, Valmiera and Cēsis.

The Mother’s Day postcard sending campaign is the first of the social network campaigns implemented by Latvijas Pasts, and it has been held since 2011. Interest in this campaign is very high, and it is growing every year. The first Mother’s Day postcard sending campaign held by Latvijas Pasts in 2011 saw the participation of 4,867 Twitter users who filled in about 6,500 postcards.
