Best Latvijas Pasts postmen and post office operators of 2022 were honoured at a special event

On the 28th of April 2023, a special event was held to award the winners of the contest Mans Pastnieks (My Postman) who had received the most positive reviews from the customers, evaluating the provision of postal services in 2022. The best employees were greeted by Jānis Vitenbergs, Minister of Transport and Mārcis Vilcāns, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts.

The traditional contest My Postman is an external evaluation for Latvijas Pasts employees, which is given by the company’s customers, voting through questionnaires and highlighting the professional abilities of the employees, as well as thanking them for their excellent work.

A special award ceremony for the winners was held at the Mārupe Culture House on the 28th of April 2023, where the best postmen and post office operators of each region were greeted by Jānis Vitenbergs, Minister of Transport and Mārcis Vilcāns, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts.

Jānis Vitenbergs, Minister of Transport: “I am honoured to be present at the postal sector’s most anticipated event of the year, when a celebration for the best postal workers is held. In recent months, during regional visits, I had the opportunity to meet in person with employees of post offices also in faraway regions, where I once again gained assurance that the work performed by you – professionals in the postal sector – cannot be substituted. Communication, kindness, openness and the work you do every day – there is something magical about it! Thank you for that!”

“You, the backbone of the postal sector – postmen and postal operators – are an important link that ensures the interconnectedness and full-fledged functioning of our society. This is why I am very grateful for your work and your daily commitment. There’s no substitute for human contact – no matter how much technology advances, we still want to see the postman who comes to our home and delivers items,” Mārcis Vilcāns, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, points out.

Based on the customers’ opinion, the following employees have been chosen as the best ones in the postmen competition: Daiga Jurdže from Kārsava delivery point, Ludza Municipality in the Latgale region, Normunds Indāns from Roja post office, Talsi Municipality in the Kurzeme region, Solveiga Šķiņķe from Rūjiena post office, Valmiera Municipality in the Vidzeme region, Inga Osma from Jēkabpils delivery point No. 2 in the Zemgale region and Gundega Keiša from Ragana post office, Sigulda Sigulda in the Riga region.

In turn, the title of the best post office operator, as voted by the customers, has been awarded to: Ilze Doru from Baltinava post office, Balvi Municipality in the Latgale region, Jadviga Inapša from Kalni post office, Saldus Municipality in the Kurzeme region, Agrita Lobuzova from Straupe post office, Cēsis Municipality in the Vidzeme region, Iveta Rence from Staļģene post office, Jelgava Municipality in the Zemgale region and Aija Būrija from Garkalne post office, Ropaži Municipality in the Riga region.

This was the 12th time that Latvijas Pasts called on residents to assess the best postman and post office operator of each region, highlighting their professional abilities and saying thank you for their good work. A total of 999 Latvijas Pasts postmen and post office operators were proposed for either of the nominations and 11,475 residents’ questionnaires were received for them.

Thank you to our company’s postmen, post office operators and all employees, without whose contribution Latvijas Pasts could not exist!
