Some post offices will be open on the public holiday after the Song and Dance Festival

Some post offices in the shopping centres of the largest Latvian cities will be open on Monday, the 10th of July 2023, which is a public holiday after the Song and Dance Festival this year. The customers who get their benefits and pensions granted by the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA) delivered to their places of residence through the intermediary of Latvijas Pasts with the expected pay-out period from the 9th to 10th of July will receive the money at an earlier date. 

The day after the closing concert of the Song and Dance Festival is a public holiday throughout the country. Postal services will be available on this day in some post offices in the shopping centres of the largest cities – the exact list of the post offices to be open in Riga, Mārupe, Daugavpils, Jelgava, Jēkabpils and Liepāja and their opening hours is available here.

Pensions and benefits paid by the VSAA which are to be delivered to customers at their places of residence on the 9th and 10th of July will be delivered and paid to them on the 7th of July, and the 6th of July will be the payday for those customers whose pensions and benefits are scheduled to be received on the 7th and 8th of July. In turn, customers with the expected pay-out days on the 5th and 6th of July will receive the money on the 5th of July.
