On World Post Day, Latvijas Pasts invites you to vote for the best postman and post office operator of 2023

On World Post Day, Latvijas Pasts invites you to identify and pay tribute to the best postman and post office operator of 2023 in each region of Latvia. This is already the 13th time that Latvijas Pasts has launched the traditional contest Mans pastnieks (My Postman), offering an opportunity to express gratitude, especially to those postal employees who provide postal services with responsiveness, dedication, care, and a sense of responsibility every day. This year too you can say thank you by filling in and sending the printed contest questionnaire free of charge or submitting your vote online at http://anketa.pasts.lv/. The post-paid printed questionnaires are inserted into the letter-boxes of the people who had subscribed to any periodicals during the last year. Voting within the contest My Postman is open until the 10th of December 2023.

The 9th of October is the day when the 192 member countries of the Universal Postal Union, including Latvia, mark World Post Day. The postal sector holiday is celebrated to raise awareness of the role of a post in the daily lives of people and businesses, which is also directly consistent with the purpose of the contest My Postman organized annually by Latvijas Pasts. Therefore, in honour of this day, Latvijas Pasts invites you, for the 13th time, to show appreciation to the postal industry professionals who ensure the connection of people and businesses with the postal services they need.

Latvijas Pasts employs over 2,600 people in about 150 different occupations, with the biggest share – around 70% – made up of postmen and post office employees who deliver press obtained by subscription, letters, and small packets every weekday, serve customers at the post offices and provide various other services even in the most remote rural homesteads. In appreciation of the efforts, sense of responsibility, and professionalism of these employees – postmen and post office operators – Latvijas Pasts calls on the people of the country to reveal the best professionals working in the postal field and say thanks to them.

At the beginning of October, the printed questionnaires for the contest were sent to the letterboxes of the customers who had subscribed to any periodicals during the last year. The filled questionnaires should be dropped in any Latvijas Pasts letter-box or dropped off at a post office by the 10th of December 2023. The questionnaires are post-paid. The contest questionnaire may be filled in and submitted online until the mentioned deadline here

The best postman and post office operator of 2023 will be identified within the contest My Postman, as every year, in each region of Latvia: Kurzeme, Latgale, Vidzeme, Zemgale, and Riga. The postmen and post office operators with the highest assessment rates given by the residents will receive valuable prizes from Latvijas Pasts.

This is the 13th time that Latvijas Pasts has organized the contest, My Postman. A total of 999 Latvijas Pasts postmen and post office operators were proposed for the best employee nomination within the contest My Postman 2022 and more than 11,475 customers questionnaires were received for them.
