Latvijas Pasts VAS has opened a new-concept customer centre to enhance the postal service experience and ensure a more accessible environment for all. A unique stamp dedicated to the animated film Flow was also presented at the opening.
The new-concept service point is located in the Saga shopping centre. Following this model, a total of 15 customer centres are planned to open in several Latvian cities and municipal towns in 2025.
The new concept aims to enhance customer touchpoints in service delivery, considering evolving sending habits. In this way, Latvijas Pasts is gradually establishing customer centres in state cities and regional towns, featuring an innovative design, greater convenience and improved accessibility. A self-service point, offering additional functionality, is planned for the future.
“A pleasant and functional environment, enhanced services and customer-oriented service – qualities that are indispensable for Latvijas Pasts now and in time to come. We are not merely witnesses to the changes occurring in society, but also active participants and drivers of them. This is why the new-concept customer centres, which blend traditional postal and payment services with innovative solutions, are particularly relevant in today’s evolving world. We have seen how an initially small flow can lead to significant changes, so we are pleased to mark the transformation of Latvijas Pasts with a special stamp dedicated to the success of the animated film Flow, created by Gints Zilbalodis and his team. The film’s cat, which has since become an icon, will also gaze at us from both the stamp and the envelope we’ve issued,” reveals Ģirts Rudzītis, Chairperson of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, adding that the Latvian public has already awarded its own ‘Oscar’ to the animated film along with its creators.
The opening event also saw the first day cancellation of the philatelic novelties – the envelope and the stamp. The design of these philatelic items, inspired by the original drawing of the film’s protagonist, was created by 3D animation artist Pēteris Tenisons from the Flow team, in collaboration with the film’s director Gints Zilbalodis.
The Flow postage stamp, with a nominal value of EUR 2.54, is intended for sending letters weighing up to 20 grams within the European Economic Area, and its print run will be 10,000 copies. The special design envelope, in turn, will be available in a limited edition of 1,000 copies.
The location of the Saga customer centre ensures accessibility not only for residents of the Ulbroka area but also for Rigans, with services available daily from 10.00 AM to 9.00 PM. It will also be easily accessible to visitors with functional impairments and prams, as the premises ensure adequate environmental accessibility.
The new-concept Saga customer centre costed 36,650 euros (excluding value added tax), with the majority of the expenses attributed to repairs and furniture acquisition.
