The first day ceremony of the anniversary envelope will take place in the post office Sakta in Riga, 32 Brīvības Boulevard, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Baumaņu Kārlis (1835-1905) was one of the first Latvian composers and one of the founders of Latvian professional music, as well as a poet and playwright. The song God, bless Latvia! was composed by the author in 1873 for a male choir; this song was used to welcome the singers in the opening of the first All-Latvian Song and Dance Festival. On 4 June 1920, God, bless Latvia! was adopted by the constitutional convention as the national anthem of Latvia. God, bless Latvia! was restored as the national anthem on 15 February 1990, when the Supreme Council of the Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic adopted a law affirming the red-white-red flag, the coat of arms, and the anthem as the official national symbols.

The next new stamp issue is planned for 21 May.
