Latvijas Pasts issues Christmas stamps and invites to House of Greetings

On Friday, December 3, the first day event of the newly-issued Christmas stamps will take place in the post office Sakta. In addition, Latvijas Pasts invites everyone to visit the House of Greetings in Doma Square starting November 27 to purchase special Christmas postcards and send gifts.

The themes of the Christmas stamps designed by artist Ģirts Grīva are warmth and family - one stamp shows a little girl decorating a Christmas tree, the other - a boy holding a gift who has stopped to look at a tit in a rowan tree.

The two new stamps are accompanied by a first-day envelope and special cancellation. The envelope shows a boy dragging a sled with gifts through a snowy forest, while the cancellation displays bells and the text Merry Christmas!

The Christmas stamps have been issued with the face value of LVL 0.35 (1,000,000 stamps) and 0.60 (150,000).

The first day ceremony of the new stamps will take place in the Sakta post office in Riga, 32 Brīvības Boulevard, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

The next new stamp issue is planned for January 14 of the new year.

This year, Latvijas Pasts will also welcome everyone at the House of Greetings in Doma Square as part of the Christmas market. The House of Greetings will give the opportunity to buy and mail one of four specially designed limited-edition Christmas postcards. It will also be possible to affix a special cancellation to these postcards and other postal items. The House of Greetings will also allow to mail gifts purchased in the market and receive information about other services offered by Latvijas Pasts.

Latvijas Pasts wishes everyone a bright and warm Advent.
