Latvijas Pasts adds Lily to the popular Flowers series

In anticipation of the spring, Latvijas Pasts has issued a new stamp in the popular Flowers series - the Lily, designed by artist Lilija Dinere. The first-day cancellation event for the stamp will take place on Saturday, February 11, in the post office Sakta, 32 Brīvības Boulevard, Riga, from 8 AM to 6 PM.

The print run of the new stamp is 500,000, its denomination - LVL 0.35, corresponding to the cost of mailing a regular letter within Latvia.

Lilyis the third stamp in the Flowers series, which is being released since 2010; the first stamp in the series was the Peony, the second - the Rose.

"We expect that the new stamp Lily will attract the attention of customers, as the flower theme in stamps is very popular. The Peony was already completely sold out in the beginning of last year, and the Rose, whose print run was one million stamps, is selling out quickly as well," notes Edmunds Bebrišs, Director of the Postage Stamp and Philately Department of Latvijas Pasts.
