Special stamp dedicated to international exhibition Green Week to be presented by Latvijas Pasts in Riga and Berlin

Latvijas Pasts has released a special stamp dedicated to Green Week, an exhibition for the food, agriculture and gardening industry taking place in the capital of Germany, Berlin. Latvia is the partner country of Green Week 2015, and the presentation of the stamp will be held at Latvijas Pasts stand during the exhibition in Berlin from January 16 to January 21. The first-day cancellation event will take place in the post office Sakta, 32 Brīvības Boulevard, Riga, on January 15, from 7:30 AM to 7 PM.

The denomination of the stamp issued in honor of Green Week is € 0.50, which is suitable for mailing a regular Class B letter in Latvia. The stamp has been designed by the artist Arta Ozola-Jaunarāja, and its print run is 1 million. The release of the stamp is accompanied by the issue of the special Green Week cover with the print run of 1,500 copies. The design of the stamp and the cover incorporates one of the unique symbols of Latvia – the blue cow.

Green Week is one of the world’s leading exhibitions for the food, agriculture and gardening industry that includes various forums, seminars and conferences. It is an excellent opportunity to get to know the many and varied products of the food industry and a one-stop location for food news, culture and traditions of diverse countries. The exhibition is aimed at consumers from Germany and its neighboring countries, food wholesale and retail representatives, importers of agricultural products, experts from agriculture, forestry, horticulture and fishing industries, and mass media.

After 10 years of negotiations and preparatory work, Latvia has become the partner country of Green Week 2015, and this status is essential for the country in terms of both business development and Latvian-German cooperation.

Green Week 2014 was attended by more than 400,000 interested individuals who got familiar with the offers of nearly 1,700 participants from 69 countries of the world.
