Latvijas Pasts releases stamp dedicated to Men’s World Floorball Championships

The first-day cancellation event of the stamp and the cover dedicated to the 11th World Floorball Championships to be held in Latvia will take place in Riga post office No. 50 located in the shopping mall Origo, 2 Stacijas laukums, Riga, on April 4, 2016, from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM.

The print run of the new stamp Men’s World Floorball Championships is 200,000 copies and its denomination is EUR 0.64, which is suitable for mailing a regular Class A postcard to any country within the European Union. The print run of the new cover is 1,500 copies. The stamp and the cover were designed by the artist Artis Zeiļa. The stamps have been printed at Baltic Banknote printing house in Latvia.

This year, Latvia has been entrusted with hosting the largest and most important floorball event: the 11th Men’s World Floorball Championships. The Championships, which will be hosted by Latvia for the first time, will take place from December 3 to 11 in Arena Riga and the Olympic Sports Centre, both located in Riga. The finals tournament of the World Championships will involve approximately 320 athletes and more than 100 official representatives from 16 countries: USA, Australia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Canada, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Slovakia, Finland, Switzerland, Thailand, Germany and Sweden.
