Latvijas Pasts releases Architecture series stamp and cover dedicated to Vidzeme Concert Hall Cēsis

Latvijas Pasts has released a new stamp and a cover in the Latvian Architecture series, this time dedicated to Vidzeme Concert Hall Cēsis. The first day cancellation of the stamp will take place in Vidzeme Concert Hall Cēsis at 12 Raunas Street, Cēsis, from 10 AM to 5 PM on 22 July 2016. The presentation of the stamp with the participation of the representatives of the management of Latvijas Pasts, Vidzeme Concert Hall and Cēsis Municipality Council will be held in the concert hall at 11 AM.

The face value of the new stamp is €1.57, which corresponds to the cost of mailing a registered Class A letter, and its print run is 200.000. The release of the stamp is accompanied by the issue of a special cover with a print run of 1,500 copies. The stamp and the cover have been designed by the artist Ģirts Grīva.

The official opening event in honour of the new stamp will see the participation of Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts Mārcis Vilcāns, Member of the Board of Vidzeme Concert Hall Cēsis Juris Žagars and Chairman of Cēsis City Council Jānis Rozenbergs.

Vidzeme Concert Hall Cēsis started its operation in the spring of 2014, and its creator, architect Juris Poga has focused the building concept on the harmony between the historical cultural heritage and the contemporary art, creative people and a youthful, free spirit.

Latvijas Pasts has issued the Latvian Architecture series of stamps since 2010. Last year Latvijas Pasts released the stamp in this series featuring Rundāle Palace. The stamps released in the Latvian Architecture series until now can be viewed here.

The new stamp and the cover Vidzeme Concert Hall Cēsis are available for viewing here.

The next new philatelic release is scheduled for 23 July 2016.
