Latvijas Pasts releases a commemorative stamp dedicated to the Archbishop of the Latvian Orthodox Church Jānis Pommers

Latvijas Pasts has released a new stamp and a cover in honour of the 140th anniversary of Jānis Pommers, a former Archbishop of the Orthodox Church of Riga and all Latvia. The first day cancellation of the stamp is scheduled to take place in the Post Centre Sakta, 32 Brīvības Boulevard, Riga, on the 12th of October 2016, from 8 AM to 7 PM.

The print run of the new stamp is 200,000 copies and its face value is € 0.50, which corresponds to the cost of sending an ordinaryClass B letter within Latvia. The release of the stamp is accompanied by the issue of a special cover with a print run of 1,500 copies. The philatelic releases have been designed by the artist Lilija Dinere.
