The traditional Greeting House in the Dome Square features the postage stamp year set, the holiday postmark and greetings

The special Latvijas Pasts post office in the Greeting House is welcoming visitors again at the end of 2017. It will be open at the Christmas market of the Dome Square, Riga until the 31st of December. The Greeting House offers the opportunity to purchase the latest postage stamp set comprising all the stamps issued during this year, send greeting postcards or gifts and stamp them with a special postmark certifying that the item was sent to the addressee right from the Old Town.

The latest postage stamp set of Latvijas Pasts includes a total of 20 stamp releases that comprise 26 stamps and two stamp blocks issued in 2017. The postage stamp set is a convenient way to start or continue collecting stamps issued in Latvia, as it contains all stamps released during one year. The stamps have various face values and a different demand, but the set ensures the availability of all stamps released this year.

The Greeting House at the Christmas Market of the Dome Square, which enjoys great popularity among visitors, has acquired new premises and a vivid visual appearance this year. It will welcome customers until the very end of the year, offering various holiday keepsakes, as well as the opportunity to send gifts. The Greeting House provides the possibility to send greeting postcards with Christmas stamps featuring the characters of Alberts Kronenbergs’ fairy tales and with a special postmark certifying that the greeting was sent right from the Christmas market in the Old Town.

The Greeting House is open to visitors from 10 AM to 8 PM from Sunday to Thursday and from 10 AM to 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.
