Latvijas Pasts releases the 13th stamp in the series Lighthouses of Latvia – it features Ragaciems Lighthouse

Latvijas Pasts has released already the thirteenth stamp in the series Lighthouses of Latvia, and it depicts Ragaciems Lighthouse of Lapmežciems Parish, Engure Municipality, built in 1960. The first day cancellation of the new stamp is scheduled to take place in Riga post office No. 50 located in the shopping mall Origo, 2 Stacijas laukums, from 8 AM to 7 PM on the 19th of October 2018. 

The print run of the stamp Ragaciems Lighthouse is 150,000 copies, and its face value is € 0.64, which corresponds to the cost of sending a regular Class A postcard within the European Union. The release of the stamp is accompanied by the issue of a special cover with a print run of 1,000 copies. The new philatelic releases have been designed by the artist Arta Ozola-Jaunarāja.

Ragaciems Lighthouse is located 52 kilometres from Riga on Cape Ragaciems near the Gulf of Riga in Lapmežciems Parish, Engure Municipality, and it was built in 1960. Ragaciems Lighthouse is 30 metres high. 

Latvijas Pasts started issuing stamps in the series Lighthouses of Latvia 15 years ago, in 2003, and thirteen stamps dedicated to the lighthouses of Latvia have been released in the series until now: Roja Lighthouse (2017), Ovīši Lighthouse (2016), Salacgrīva Lighthouse (2015), Ainaži Lighthouse (2014), Užava Lighthouse (2010), Liepāja Lighthouse (2009), Akmeņrags Lighthouse (2008), Pape Lighthouse (2007), Mērsrags Lighthouse (2006), Daugavgrīva Lighthouse (2005), Miķeļbāka Lighthouse (2004) and Kolka Lighthouse (2003).
