Latvijas Pasts releases a stamp dedicated to Mother’s Day in collaboration with Mammamuntetiem.lv

Latvijas Pasts in collaboration with the Latvian parents’ organisation Mammamuntetiem.lv has released a special stamp dedicated to Mother’s Day. The new stamp has been designed by the artist Kristīne Lapsa-Kalniņa. The first day cancellation of the stamp is scheduled to take place in Riga post office No. 10 at 41/43 Elizabetes Street, Riga from 8 AM to 8 PM on the 10^th of May 2019. An attractive presentation of the stamp with the participation of the Manager of Mammamuntetiem.lv Inga Akmentiņa-Smildziņa, Member of the Board of Latvijas Pasts Kristaps Krūmiņš and the designer of the stamp is going to be held at the same place at 11 AM.

The face value of the new stamp is €0.50, which corresponds to the cost of sending an ordinary Class A letter within Latvia. The print run of the stamp is 80,000 copies. It is accompanied by a special cover with a print run of 1,000 copies. 

The new postage stamp has been released in collaboration with Mammamuntetiem.lv in honour of Mother's Day, which will be celebrated in Latvia on the 12^th of May this year. In September 2019 it is also planned to issue a stamp dedicated to Father's Day, thus creating a set which carries a message of the value and importance of the family in society. 

Presentation of the Mother's Day stamp in Riga post office No. 10 at 41/43 Elizabetes Street at 11 AM on the 10^th of May 2019 will be held in an attractive atmosphere and will mark the official conclusion of the traditional Mother's Day postcard sending campaign organised by Latvijas Pasts. Latvijas Pasts invites everyone to attend the event and take advantage of the opportunity to capture the moment in the special photo corner A million of kisses for our mums.
