Latvijas Pasts starts 2022 with four postage stamps in the new philately series Domestic Animals
Latvijas Pasts starts 2022 with four postage stamps in the new series Domestic Animals, which are being released on the 14th of January. The new series will replace the existing standard stamp series Coats of Arms of Latvian Towns and Municipalities and Flowers. Each of the four new stamps has a different face value and print run, but they all have a self-adhesive base and are particularly easy to use. The new stamps will first be available for purchase at the post offices of the largest cities, as well as in the e-shop of Latvijas Pasts https://veikals.pasts.lv/. Those interested in the first day cancellation options are invited to contact us by writing to the e-mail address: filatelija@pasts.lv

In 2022, Latvijas Pasts launches a new standard postage stamp series Domestic Animals, which will include stamps of different face values. The first stamps in the series feature the pictures of a cat, a dog, a chicken and a goose. The new stamps are accompanied by the first day cover with a print run of 800 copies, and it also depicts all the mentioned animals. The stamps have been released on a self-adhesive base, which makes them easy to use. The new philatelic releases have been designed by the artist Ģirts Grīva.

Each of the stamps has a different face value and print run. The stamp Cat has a print run of 800,000 copies and a face value of €1.20 and corresponds to the postage of items in the weight class up to 20 grams within Latvia. The print run of the stamp Dog amounts to 500,000 copies and its face value is €1.47, covering the postage of items weighing up to 100 grams within Latvia. The stamp Chicken has been released in 100,000 copies and its face value is €1.56, and it can be used for paying the postage of items in the weight class up to 20 grams to the countries in Group 8. The print run of the stamp Goose is also 100,000 copies, but its face value is €1.76, which is suitable for sending items weighing up to 20 grams to the countries in Group 11.

Taking into account that Latvijas Pasts is not currently holding public first day stamp cancellation events at post offices due to security requirements, stamp collectors and those interested in philately are invited to contact the Stamp and Philately Department of Latvijas Pasts regarding stamp cancellation options by writing to the e-mail address: filatelija@pasts.lv.
